Power comes from Bosch's Smart System Active Line motor: 40Nm of torque with four assist levels (Eco, Tour, Auto, Turbo) that adapt in real time to how hard you're pedaling, so hills that used to wind you become a non-event. The Bosch PowerPack 400 battery sits low on the down tube rather than the rear rack, which does two jobs at once: it lowers the bike's center of gravity for a steadier ride, and it frees up the rear MIK rack for actual cargo, groceries, a pannier, a laptop bag, instead of battery housing. Continental Contact Plus tires at 62mm are among the widest available on a bike this size, built for grip on wet pavement and the potholes that show up every spring.

What is more important Watts or Torque when buying an eBike?
Watts is a very poor way of measuring how powerful an eBike motor is. A high wattage motor that is inefficient will give the rider less power at the wheel than a more efficient motor that has a lower wattage rating.
Remember when you used to buy 60, 80, and 100-watt light bulbs? Then LED light bulbs came out and suddenly they are now rated at 5-10 watts. These new technologically advanced lightbulbs are much more efficient than the old-style lightbulbs. They are now 6 to 10 times more energy efficient and in many cases produce more light output.
So as you can see Watts are simply the measure of how much electrical charge is flowing and is not related to the product's actual performance.
Torque is HUGE and is incredibly important with e-bikes as it is the most accurate way to measure the power around the wheel or the crank. More torque = easier to pedal.
Newton Meters (Nm) is the units of measure used for torque, the higher the Nm number, typically the more assist your eBike will give you.
Now don't be fooled by high Nm ratings from some manufacturers as you always want to know the actual continuous torque (what you can get for an extended period of time) and not the peak torque rating(something you will feel for a fraction of a second only).

Do your electric bikes go faster than 32 Kph (20Mph)?
The short answer is no. All of our electric bicycles are 100% compliant with Canadian legal regulations which states that all electric bicycles must not exceed 32 Km/h (20Mph) under electric assist.
It is illegal to use an electric bicycle that exceeds this speed on public roads and a rider can be criminally charged by doing so.
Do you ship electric bikes outside of Canada?
Yes we can ship our electric bicycles to some countries outside of Canada. Depending on the Brand we may have some restrictions as to whether we can do so.

What are the benefits of purchasing an eBike equipped with an eBike System certified to UL 2849?

Why is there a UL safety standard for eBike systems?
▶ The battery, charger, drive unit and display make a complex electrical system. Therefore a standard has been developed to test for electrical and fire safety: UL 2849. This gives consumers the confidence that their product is safe.
▶ It is important that the entire eBike system is certified and not just the battery. When factoring safety in your purchasing decision ask for confirmation that the complete system is certified to UL 2849. A Certification logo for our complete eBike Systems can be found on our battery packs.
Why don't all brands have a UL or CSA certification?
This can be due to several factors but the typical reason is simply cost for these brands. As this would require that they change many aspects of their build quality and design of their products in order to comply.
Having a complete system is more than just a battery charger. It includes the battery, displays, motor, sensors and cables as well.
